Senate panel OKs OSBI expansion plan

Co-Senate leader Glenn Coffee 's bills to streamline state government by merging some agency operations won approval of the Senate Appropriations Committee on Wednesday.

Senate Bill 1709 by Coffee, R- Oklahoma City , would put the state medical examiner's office under the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation .

Coffee said many states have their medical examiner under law enforcement agencies.
