UCO prepares for WinterGlow
WinterGlow, the start of the holiday season at the University of Central Oklahoma, will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 30.
This is the 15th year for WinterGlow. The 2012 theme is “Miracle on 2nd Street.”
The evening begins with the ceremonial lighting of Old North, the university's oldest building. UCO President Don Betz and Edmond Mayor Charles Lamb will speak.
After the lighting ceremony, guests are invited to the Nigh University Center to participate in free holiday-themed activities including face painting, interactive games, crafts and carriage rides. Children who bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to the Edmond Hope Center can have a complimentary photo with Santa, courtesy of Taylor Made Photography.

The guest speaker will be Scott Van Krevelen, director of Van's House, a long-term treatment facility. He will talk about enabling versus helping. He will discuss with parents how their actions may be hindering their child's recovery.
