GARYVILLE, La. (AP) — Marathon Petroleum Corp. says the Louisiana refinery hit by a tornado should be repaired by mid-June.

The cooling water tower for one of two crude processing units in Garyville was struck by an EF-1 tornado on Wednesday. The other unit was not damaged.

The company says the refinery is the nation's third-largest, able to process 21.9 million gallons of crude a day when fully operational.

In a statement Friday, the company says it does not expect the damage to have a major effect on its output for this quarter. According to the news release, experts expect less than a 5 percent reduction in the amount processed.

The Findlay, Ohio, company says it's the nation's fourth-largest refiner. Its seven refineries can process about 71.4 million gallons a day.
