MCLOUD — A third-grade teacher has resigned amid allegations she asked girls to pose in underwear for photographs and video at her home and had her students Skype in the classroom with a man known as “Uncle G.”
Kimberly Crain, 47, of Shawnee, turned in a letter of resignation to McLoud schools on Monday, Superintendent Doran Smith said.
Crain had been a teacher there since the fall of 2006, he said.
“The allegations are very serious and very concerning,” Smith said
Shawnee police contacted the district and informed school officials of an ongoing investigation, Smith said.
Police are investigating allegations that Crain invited girls to her Shawnee home on Nov. 11 for a pizza party and asked them to pose for photos while decorating a Christmas tree, according to a search warrant affidavit filed in Pottawatomie County.
A parent of one of the girls told Shawnee police the teacher told the girls to change into what were described as Christmas bras and panties with words such as “Ho, Ho” written on them, the affidavit states.
The teacher told the girls to go into a bedroom one at a time and change into the underwear, which she provided, according to the affidavit.
The parent said Crain photographed and videotaped the girls doing a cheer dance while wearing the bras and panties, the affidavit states.
On Nov. 17, parents of a girl in Crain's class went to McLoud police and reported that Crain asked her students to Skype over the computer three or four times a week with an older man wearing glasses named “Uncle G.” The parents, whose daughter accompanied them to the police station, also said Crain took photos on her personal cellphone of particular girls in the class posing on desks and chairs, according to the affidavit.
