A man wanted on multiple armed robbery warrants was arrested Tuesday night after a long standoff with police at an apartment in northwest Oklahoma City, authorities said.
Jarrod Truss, 22, was arrested about 9:10 p.m. after police kicked in the door at an apartment where he had been hiding since about 12:30 p.m., police Capt. Dexter Nelson said.
Truss pleaded guilty in September to four counts of robbery with a firearm and one count of attempted robbery. His bond in the case was forfeited.
Bail bondsmen spotted Truss a little after noon at The Village on the Lake Apartments, in the 9100 block of N MacArthur Boulevard. Nelson said he tried to escape through an upstairs window but retreated back into the apartment when he saw it was surrounded.
The bail bondsmen then called police, Nelson said.
Police said Truss would not come out of the apartment, and a woman inside the apartment would not open the door. Police eventually forced their way into the apartment and found Truss hiding inside.
The woman was detained and is being questioned, Nelson said. A 1-year-old was also in the apartment. Police have not decided whether to arrest the woman.
“We’ve been out here for four hours yelling at the apartment on a bullhorn,” Nelson said. “She was in the apartment with him offering assistance.”
