Oklahoma City police ask for help identifying backpack thief

A man stole a backpack from a northeast Oklahoma City gas station on Tuesday.

Oklahoma City police are searching for a man who stole a backpack filled with more than $900 of personal property from a gas station.

About 8 p.m. Tuesday, police said the man who owned the backpack set it down while he was fueling up his motorcycle at a gas station in northeast Oklahoma City. Security camera footage shows the suspect, a black male with short or no hair, taking the bag a short time later. The suspect was identified as a passenger in a vehicle driven by another man that left the scene.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspect vehicle and its driver, and ask that anyone who can identify the men call Crime Stoppers at 235-7300.
