MIDWEST CITY — Sam’s Club stores in the Oklahoma City metro area and Lawton have pooled money together to make a $7,000 donation to an Oklahoma group seeking to take veterans to Washington to view the World War II Memorial.

The donation is to be presented Friday morning at the Sam’s Club store at 6521 SE 29, said state Rep. Gary Banz, R-Midwest City, who is chairman of the Legislature’s Veterans and Military Affairs committee.

Oklahoma Honor Flights hopes to raise $100,000 to charter a flight for veterans in the spring, Banz said.
